Programs are blooming at the Ed Robson Branch Library in May! Join us for the following:
Monday, May 9 at 1:00 p.m. – Remembering D-Day
The most difficult military invasion in history, D-Day, began just after midnight on June 6, 1944. Terry Mindham will present and explain a photographic look at the events and places of D-Day took place. Included will be the American landings at Utah and Omaha beaches, the paratrooper landings sites and the Rangers scaling the cliffs at Pointe du Hoc to take out the German guns.
On the day of the program, please come to the library front desk for a free ticket. There is a limit of two tickets per person. Seating is limited. If possible, please park in the church parking lot next to the library. Sponsored by the New Friends of the Ed Robson Library.
Tuesday, May 10 at 10:30 a.m. – Basics of Android
In this introductory Android class, participants will learn basic operations such as calling, texting, using the address book and calendar function. Participants will also learn some tips and tricks for using the app store and will be able to download one app related to books. Both phones and tablets that use Android as the operative system are welcome. Please bring your device, charger and any necessary passwords.
Limited to 15 attendees. Registration begins on April 20.
Thursday, May 19 at 2:00 p.m. – The Glory of Monarch Butterflies
The Monarch butterfly is one of the most beautiful of its species. Have you wanted to learn more about the lives of these fascinating creatures and how conservation is working to preserve their future? Join us as Kim Pegram, Insect Ecologist and Exhibits Specialist at the Desert Botanical Garden, shares this information along with tips on how to draw them to your garden.

Monday, May 23 at 1:00 p.m. – Origami Workshop
In celebration of Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, we will be creating a lovely origami craft and learning about the history of this ancient paper-folding art.
