Mondays, March 5, 12 and 19, from 1:00-3:00 p.m.: Turning Your Memories in Memoirs

Are you thinking of writing your memoirs? Get started with this three-part workshop that uses guided writing exercises, active listening and constructive critique to turn your memories into a memoir. Registration is for all three classes. Please register with a staff member. Limited to 15. Registration starts on February 12.

Tuesday, March 6, 10:30-11:30 a.m.: HealthRHYTHMS Drumming Circle

Drum circles are a positive community experience designed to enhance self-realization, reduce tension, anxiety and stress, result in a positive medical impact and release emotions. No experience necessary, and all instruments provided. Age 18 and over. Registration required and begins on February 7. Limited to 30 attendees.

Wednesday, March 7, 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Apaches and Their Horses*

It has been thought that the Apache do not become Apache until the adoption of the horse. Horses were integrated into Apachean lives through use of horse power and in ceremonies. Archaeological traces document the historical role of horses in rock art, bones, landscape use and artifacts. Sponsored by the Sun Lakes Friends of the Library.

Friday, March 9, 1:00-2:30 p.m.: Cut the Cord*

Are you looking to eliminate the need for cable TV and save money without losing shows you love? We’ll demonstrate several options for you, including Apple TV and the Roku streaming stick. Please bring your email address to sign up for information sheets that we will send to you after the program.

Tuesday, March 13, 1:00-2:00 p.m.: Low Stress Gardening*

Get ready for springtime! Master Gardener Lee Ann Aronson presents special gardening techniques that utilize little lifting, not much weeding and no tilling. She also discusses plants that help support special needs for hearing, vision and other health concerns.

Saturday, March 17, 1:00-2:00 p.m.: Celebrate Ireland with the Gilbert Town Fiddlers*

The Gilbert Town Fiddlers return for a performance of Celtic tunes in honor of St. Patrick’s Day! Irish jig, anyone? Perfect for audiences of all ages.

Tuesday, March 20, 1:00-2:00 p.m.: Jacome Flamenco Presents DUET*

Featuring the exciting thrill of flamenco’s intense dance style and powerful music, DUET provides an artistic collaboration where audiences see, hear and feel how the dancer’s movement inspires the guitarist and how the singing, melodies and rhythms combine to make beautiful poetry.

Thursday, March 22, 1:00-2:30 p.m.: History of African-Americans in the Military*

Emancipated from slavery during the American Civil War, Black Americans fought for decades for a country that denied them equality, but they finally achieved a “double victory” in the fires of World War II. Herb Zinn presents this fascinating program which was originally scheduled in January.

Monday, March 26, 1:00-2:00 p.m.: Unwind at Adult Coloring Time

Adult coloring is sweeping the country! Feel free to bring a snack, socialize and relax! Although you are welcome to bring your own colored pencils or markers, all supplies are provided. Program limited to 40 attendees.

*Seating begins 15 minutes before the program starts. Limit 100 attendees.
