Line Dancing with Judee

Judee Curtis

When you have fun dancing and being with really nice people, the time flies even faster than normal, whatever “normal” is! We have started the new year with our current dancers, many returning dancers from last spring and welcomed new dancers. Thank you to the dancers who have helped me with set-up. I could not do it all myself, as we doubled our number since December, a/k/a “Double the Fun!”

Because it’s best to allow the current dancers who have been attending my classes to “grow” and get more proficient with what they have learned, registration is now closed for new dancers. The exception might be for year-round residents with Line Dancing experience, i.e., have taken classes elsewhere, years of classes and can commit to attending classes through June. If you come under the category of the “exception,” call Judee after 10:00 a.m. at 480-802-0201 to register for the Ultra Basics class. Classes are on Mondays at 11:30 a.m. in the SunBird Ballroom for $2.00pp. You must call in order to be registered.

If you have missed the time to register for classes now, you can register for classes that will restart in September by using the same process by calling Judee.

Line Dancing does not require a partner; however, we have several couples who enjoy this activity. Line Dancing not only gives you the opportunity to exercise your body, but mostly your mind. My method of teaching is to have a plan, teach patterns, use consistent words for every move and encourage dancers to rely on themselves and “not follow.” The feedback from current dancers validates that I’m on the right path, and I will not change this method used for 18 years. God Bless Line Dancing!
