Got hope? National speaker to address Women’s Connection October Brunch

Begin your fall activities with Women’s Connections first brunch of the season. It is a great opportunity to gather your friends together for a girlfriend event. Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 15 at 9:00 a.m. in the Kingston Ballroom of the Oakwood Clubhouse in Sun Lakes, Arizona.

Are you concerned about being safe? Michelle Miller, with Damsel in Defense, will show how to empower us to protect ourselves with safety solutions. Her mission is to equip women with products that can protect, empower and educate women with self-defense to make them feel safer. Damsel in Defense products are made to help women of all ages and stages in life. Michelle will have her products available after the brunch.

Martha Fellure is a dynamic, humorous and effective speaker. This popular conference and retreat speaker comes to us from Ft. Collins, Colorado. She is currently a fashion designer with creations sold throughout North America and Europe. Martha was formerly a counselor for juvenile delinquents and counseled women in a maximum security prison. You will experience her great love for people as she inspires and encourages through a talk titled There is Always Room for Hope.

Our vocalist will be Laurie Fagen from Chandler, Arizona. She is an author and artist who is very involved in community arts councils. Laurie is known in the East Valley for her special solo presentations at various venues.

Reservations are necessary and must be made by noon on Thursday, October 8 by calling Lydia Claflin at 480-802-2188 or Mary Longmire at 602-539-1672. Cancellations need to be made no later than Monday, October 12 by 10:00 a.m. by calling Mary Longmire at 602-539-1672. Reservations not canceled must be honored. The cost is $15 inclusive at the door. Gluten free or special needs meals will be $1 extra and must be pre-ordered. Any special dietary concerns must be pre-ordered and cannot be otherwise accommodated the date of the event.
