Free classes begin in January

Learning to make Ming trees is just one of the many art forms available to students through the SunBird Lapidary Club. These examples, by teacher Muriel Davis, are on display along with other club member projects in the case by the Lapidary Shop on the upper level of the Clubhouse.

The SunBird Lapidary Club invites all residents interested in developing skills in jewelry making, rock cutting/polishing, silversmithing, rock art; stained glass; fused glass; Ming trees or beading to sign up for classes that will begin in January.

Interested residents should attend the Lapidary Club meeting to be held Friday, January 8 in the east end of the Ballroom at 1:00 p.m. At this meeting we will determine which classes are needed and set a schedule for the coming months.

There are no charges for the classes other than materials if needed. Students will need to join the club and undergo a safety briefing needed to access and use the HOA Lapidary shop.
