At the November 16 Kare Bear meeting Robin Atwood from the Chandler Police Department will be discussing the lock boxes to be attached to the entry door. Your house key would be inside the box for emergency entry by police. As you might recall in the good old days they would have to break down the door. A Chandler Fire Department representative will also be on hand to discuss the flash drives which contain your medical information which is of great assistance to them should you experience a medical emergency. Flash drives can be purchased for $5 at the meeting from the Fire Department representative.
A discussion regarding changes in the date of our annual appreciation luncheon will be on the agenda; a suggestion offered earlier in the year; a vote will be taken. The following chairpeople are needed for the 2016-17 calendar year:
Donut committee (for Kare Bear Faire)
We have received some commendable suggestions in regard to aiding the homeless. At our monthly meetings a basket will be available to receive sample size shampoo, lotion, soap, toothpaste, etc. for distribution to one of the homeless projects locally. If you frequent hotels/motels during the summer you probably have such samples available if not they can be purchased at the drug or grocery store.
Our first Kare Bear Faire will be held on November 5. If you have items for the white elephant table that need to be picked up please call Sherry Fann at 480-883-1167. Items can also be brought to the Ballroom on November 4 after 8:00 p.m.
Community Day is November 9! We will need a lot of goodies baked for our Bake Sale table. This event is always a good fundraiser of the Kare Bears. The HOA will be selling barbecued hamburgers. This is always a great day to pick up freebies and visit with your part-time neighbors.
The annual Kare Bear Golf Tournament will be held in the spring of 2017. This has been an awesome fundraiser and tons of fun for workers and participants.
We are all looking forward to an enjoyable and prosperous year with the Kare Bears!
New members are always welcome; come and join us at our monthly meetings.
