It’s always a pleasure to begin our club’s first meeting of the season with positive attendance. Of course, it’s great having a great, friendly speaker like Jenny Young, branch manager and our neighbor at the Ed Robson Branch Library. She assisted us with information of books and education concerns via a library card, telling us of the many advantages of being the owner of such a card and being nearby the facility in which to use it. As Jenny stated, “We’re always welcome to stop in anytime with library questions.” Stopping at the library is a nice place to keep cool and pick up a new book or audio tape of your liking. She walked us through many situations about using our computers and our library card to secure needed information.

Announcement was made about the “Community Clubs Open House” event being held in October by participating area clubs. Mark your calendars now so that you may browse through them to see all the many offerings. There is a variety of more than 200 clubs in our area. For sure, there must be a flavor that appeals to your spare time!

October’s General Meeting’s guest speaker just happens to be a duo affair of a couple of our favorites; Keith Wheeler, owner/operator of Tribune Technology Consulting, and Richard Clennon, owner/operator of AZ Laptop Pros.

It’s speakers like these men who give their time and share their knowledge about computing skills that helps us, the audience, to learn, understand and use our devices more easily and adventitiously. They are a fun and informative team, and it would be a shame to miss out on what they have to present and offer. Come and see for yourself.

Come early on the first Tuesday of each month from September through May at 6:00 p.m. for cookies and coffee and to mingle with other members while the meeting is being set up. Meetings begin at 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sun Lakes Country Club’s Navajo Room, 25601 Sun Lakes Blvd.
