Ten couples from Alberta and British Columbia journeyed to the North Okanagan for the second SunBird North Golf Reunion organized by Richard and Melissa Craig. Arriving on the evening of August 25, the group gathered for a barbecue dinner hosted by Que and Gayle Chang, Marcie Hogan and Wes Akerman.

On the second day, in 90 degree temperatures, we golfed at the home course of Darlene Googel and Ken Myles, Shuswap Lake Estates, where owners park their planes outside their homes overlooking the fairways. The buffet dinner in the clubhouse was a traditional roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.

The third day we traveled to the aptly named Eagle Point Golf Resort amongst the scented pine trees with vistas of mountains and rivers as far as the eye could see. That evening Ron and Carolyn Jarvis hosted our group at their home overlooking Shuswap Lake.

Those who stayed on were treated to an afternoon of boating on Dale and Diane Stokke’s pontoon boat. Now we look forward, once again, to spending the winter in SunBird, arriving sometime before November 1.
